Strip Poker

Instructions

Logging in

If you are a registered user of Playforia and have logged in with your nickname, you can start playing right away.

If you don't have your own Playforia nickname yet, you will be assigned a random visitor nickname starting with 'anonym' and a number to inform other players that you are a guest. This way you won't be confused with regular players.

If you want to create your own nickname (it's free!), click here.

Once you have chosen a nickname, select the character you wish to represent you in the strip poker game. You can browse characters by clicking the arrows, or you can make a random selection by clicking the “Select Random Female”, “Select Random Male”, or “Random Selection” button.

Functions in The Lobby

Once you have logged in, you will be able to chat with other players in the lobby, create a new game, or join an existing game.

Creating a New Game:

When you create a new game you will have the option to give the game a name, but you can also leave this space blank if you wish to do so. You also have the option of creating a password for the game. This means that other players who wish to join your game must know the password in order to play against you. This function is particularly useful if you only want to play with a certain group of friends.

You will also be given the option to create a table for two, three or four players. And finally, you can decide if jokers are used in the game.

To open the game click on “Go To The New Empty Table”. Once the table is open you may have to wait a while for other players to join your table. Once the table is full the game will begin.

Joining an Existing Game:

To join an existing game look at the “Choose A Table” list on your screen. This is a list of all existing games. Choose a game and click “Join the Chosen Table” to join the game. Please note that if [PW] appears before the name of the game you will need the game’s password to join.

Playing

When all the places at the table have been filled, the game will begin. Each character begins the game with 300 euros of virtual money. Each player sets an initial stake of 100 euros at the start of the round. There is then one round of changing cards, after which the players can raise stakes.

Throughout the game you can chat with other players by clicking the “Talk” button. Clicking on the “Quit” button will take you out of the current game and back to the lobby.

To change your cards simply click on the cards you would like to get rid of. If you do not have any face cards you can change your full hand, otherwise you must have at least one dealt card in your hand.

Once you have chosen which cards you wish to change, click the “Change” button. You also have the option to keep all cards dealt to you by clicking “Keep All”.

Once the ´changing round´ has been completed, it is time to raise stakes. The first player to raise stakes adds a sum of his/her choice to the initial stake or checks the round. The next player to raise stakes then pays the previous raise amount and can raise stakes again, or check the round and so on. This continues until all players have made a raise or checked the round.

After all players have either raised or checked the hand new raises will not be accepted. The players whose raise turns have been followed by additional raises must pay the additional sum to the stake or check the round.

When all raises have been made, it is time to look at the cards. The cards of all players still in the round are shown and the player with the best hand wins all the money in the pot for that round. If all players except one have checked the round, the remaining players cards will not be shown and he/she will automatically win the round.

Items of clothing

When a player loses all their money s/he has to remove one item of clothing. In return the player is given 200 euros to continue the game. If a player loses all his/her money and clothes they have lost the game and must leave the table. (The “Quit” button will take you back to the lobby). When a player wins money, s/he can buy items of clothing back for 200 euros per item.

Poker Hand Ranking

Poker hands are ranked as follows (Highest to lowest value)

Five of a kind
Five cards of the same rank. For example, 6 of Hearts, 6 of Diamonds, 6 of Spades, 6 of Clubs, Joker. This is only possible when jokers are used in the game.

Straight Flush
All cards are of the same suit and in sequence. For example 8 of Diamonds, 9 of Diamonds, 10 of Diamonds, Jack of Diamonds, Queen of Diamonds.

Four of a Kind
Four cards of the same rank. For example, 3 of Spades, 3 of Diamonds, 3 of Clubs, 3 of Hearts, and a fifth card.

Full House
Three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank. For example 10 of Diamonds, 10 of Spades, 8 of Hearts, 8 of Diamonds, 8 of Clubs.

Flush
All cards are of the same suit. For example 4 of Hearts, 6 of Hearts, 10 of Hearts, Jack of Hearts, King of Hearts.

Straight
All cards are of mixed suits and in sequence. For example 3 of Clubs, 4 of Diamonds, 5 of Clubs, 6 of Hearts, 7 of Spades.

Three of a Kind
Three cards of the same rank. For example Jack of Diamonds, Jack of Hearts, Jack of Spades, and two other cards.

Two Pairs
Two sets of cards of the same rank. For example 8 of Diamonds, 8 of Hearts, 5 of Hearts, 5 of Spades, and one other card.

Pair
Two cards of the same rank. For example 5 of Hearts, 5 of Spades and three other cards.

High Card
The highest value card when the hand contains five cards which do not form any of the combinations listed above.

When similar hands are played against each other, the most valuable card in the hand wins. For example, if we have two hands with “Three of a Kind”, the winning hand is the one in which the rank of the cards is of higher value. If the value of the cards is the same in both hands then the ranking of suits will apply. Suits are ranked as follows: 1. Hearts, 2. Diamonds, 3.Clubs, 4.Spades.
